The Challenge

In Kishapu District, access to water had improved — but safe use at household level remained inconsistent.

Recontamination between collection and consumption continued to expose families to preventable waterborne disease.

The Approach

4Life Solutions partnered with World Vision Tanzania to integrate SaWa into the iWASHN programme across
Lagana and Mwakipoya wards.

Using trusted local community structures, SaWa distribution was paired with hands-on demonstrations delivered in local language.

Training was embedded into existing WASH programming to ensure correct and consistent use at household level.

94%

of households demonstrated correct and consistent use. SaWa was integrated into daily routines, showing strong behaviour change at scale.

The Challenge

During a multi-region cholera outbreak in Tanzania, families required immediate, reliable household water protection to prevent further spread.

The Approach

In partnership with UNICEF Tanzania and the Ministry of Health, SaWa units were deployed through a donor-funded emergency programme.

Distribution focused on immediate usability, requiring no fuel, chemicals, or electricity — ensuring rapid household integration even under crisis conditions.

83%

of households remained actively using SaWa after deployment. Many reported daily use, with SaWa becoming their primary household water storage solution.

The Challenge

Rural schools in coffee-growing regions relied on untreated water sources, exposing children to
preventable health risks.

The Approach

Through its CSR initiative, Enveritas partnered with 4Life Solutions to integrate SaWa into schools linked
to its coffee verification areas.

Units were delivered directly to classrooms, closing a critical water safety gap.
